edTPA

On this page you will get to see what I am doing for my edTPA! There are 18 states that require you to complete the edTPA in order to become a teacher. Even though Ohio isn't one of them, BG requires us to complete and pass it in order for us to get a diploma.

What is the edTPA?

edTPA.com Definition: edTPA is a performance-based, subject-specific assessment and support system used by more than 600 teacher preparation programs in some 40 states to emphasize, measure and support the skills and knowledge that all teachers need from Day 1 in the classroom.

What will I be doing?

There are 3 tasks that need to be completed with the edTPA. I will be coming up with an intense 3 day ELA (english/language arts) lesson plan to teach to my first grade classroom. I will be recording each 20 min lesson and then answer various questions regarding my filming, teaching style, lesson plans, and more!

How is it graded?

There are 15 rubrics I will be graded on. Each one is scored between 1 and 5. I need to get at least a score of 40 to pass.
